Shakespeare Schnauzers

About Us

We got our first dog when I was young, I loved dogs from that moment on. He was a black lab mix, and we named him Shadow. It was great learning expirience, we didn't know what we were doing so we didn't train him at all and he was loose outside. He ran away when he was about 4 years old.

My parents didn't let us have another dog for quite a few years. After a while my parents bought a 1 1/2 year old Cocker Spaniel that was spayed. We named her Molly. We started taking obedience classes very soon after that. That year I joined 4-H and started showing her in a local fair. I showed her there for many years, but recently I had to have her put down. When Molly was about 5 years old my parents said that if I was responsible for it in every way I could get a small dog.

I worked hard for about a year and finally purchased my first Miniature Schnauzer, her name was Rhianna. She was 9 weeks old and I traveled to Eastern Washington to get her. I have shown her in the local fair as well.

When she was two I bred her for the first time. She proved that she was a good mother. She had four puppies in her first litter and eight in her second litter and cared for all of them. I kept one of the puppies from her first litter, whom I named Juliet, for breeding.

I keep Sebastian in the house at night and I have fenced in a part of our yard for them. I am the third oldest with 9 siblings at home and I have outdoor cats that hang out with him.

I recently had to sell both of my females to give them indoor homes (they had developed habits that my parents didn't want in the house). I wanted them to be with humans all of the time, instead of almost never.
