5 Reusable Products You Need to Try
Do you get into routines that are so predictable you've never even considered that there may be another option? Please tell me I'm not the only one.
My life often seems to be so busy that thinking outside the box is the last thing on my list. One of those things (even for me) is the idea of using reusable products that are so EASY to buy and use in the disposable form.
Well, I want to introduce you to a few "starter" products that will help you ease into the idea of reusable cloth.
#1- Cloth Wipes
Cloth wipes are great for s much more than just cleaning bottoms during diaper changes. They are great for cleaning hands and faces after snacks and meals. They are the perfect softness for runny noses (no chapped faces!). Cloth wipes are also a great addition to the make up drawer! Use these to wash your own faces and remove make-up. Grab a pack today and let us know what you think! *Scroll to bottom for details on our clearance sale happening now!
#2- Wet Bags
These Wet Bags are the perfect size to keep in a diaper bag, gym bag, purse, car and more. They are water resistant, and have a snap closure. They will carry 2-5 soiled diapers (depending on the size of the diaper); a quick change for the gym; a wet swimsuit; even a pair of dirty shoes. The best part is that when you get home, you can empty the bag into the wash machine and toss the now empty bag in too.
#3- Pail Liner
Much like the Wet Bag, the Pail Liner is a very versatile reusable bag. With an elastic top, it works as a liner in a hamper or garbage can. Traditionally these are used for cloth diapers, but its uses are truly endless. These are the perfect thing to throw in a suitcase and use as a travel laundry bag. I have personally used mine as a beach bag (there is room for at least 4 wet towels and swimsuits for all my kids) and a travel laundry bag. Now that my kids are getting older and more responsible, I am considering one for each kid to use as their own laundry bag at home. Ideally this will help me in the laundry department too...I'll let you know if and when I switch to that system. :)
These final two are specific to the women in your life.
#4- Feminine Pads
If you are knew to the world of reusable cloth products (other than washcloths and towels) this may be a bit of a stretch, but they really are worth a try! With a soft cotton inside and waterproof outside, these feminine pads get the job done is way that is much cleaner and healthier for both you and the environment. Aside from saving money, and keeping the landfill a bit cleaner one of the main reasons I like using cloth is that it doesn't irritate my skin the way the plastic disposable ones do. And coming soon we will be offering both a sample pack (one of each size) and a starter pack (a basic set to start your stash) for purchase in our store. We would love your input about these ideas and to hear your reviews if you have tried them!
#5- Nursing Pads
Nursing pads were a necessarily evil for me after I gave birth to my first child. I was one of those women...I was an over-producer of milk. It was great for me, and great for my baby...but the leaking was no fun. I often went through 2 pair of disposable pads a day and with that first baby my body never really slowed down. Thankfully after 4 kids my body knows what to do and nursing pads were not needed for quite so long with the last one. Back to the point here, disposables run about $10 a box and you get about 60 pads (or 30 pair). So that breaks down to about $0.33/pair, and that would last me 2-3 weeks if I was lucky. With reusable nursing pads I only needed about 6-8 pair and they last through ALL of my babies! What a savings!
So, there you have it. 5 reusable cloth products you need to try! What have you tried? We would love to hear about your favorite reusable products and why you love them. Leave a comment and let us know.
